CREATIVE INDUSTRIES DEVELOPMENT and ACADEMIC RESEARCH


River Niger Arts has delivered creative industries development and research projects for over 12 years. Our team of academic and professional staff are accredited lecturers, advisers, and consultants to the creative business and higher education sectors.

RNA works closely with creative arts development agencies in the UK as consultants and advisers to the industries of: broadcasting, multimedia, music, film, photography, design, publishing, performing arts, designer fashion, and advertising.

River Niger Arts is committed to supporting and facilitating the creation of sustainable creative industry projects in the UK and internationally

We have partners in Africa, Europe, and America and our work has paved the way for creating innovative international projects such as the
Sounds of Slavery’, and a number of creative industry R&D projects.

We have been partners in delivering European Regional Development Fund, European Social Fund, Single Regeneration Budget, and International Economic Development Programs for the last 12 years. Below are some of our national and international projects: 

  •  Creative Business Incubation Acceleration Service (2004-09)
    Enterprise support for business start up and existing creative businesses specializing in one to one counseling, enterprise workshops, seminars, mentoring, music export and online support via a knowledge bank
    In partnership with a Liverpool University we are currently assisting new graduates in the creative industries to set up in business. 

  •  Research – University of Liverpool (2000-03)
    Evaluation of Enterprise Support Initiatives for the Creative Industries on Merseyside – Academic research paper analysing specialist enterprise support initiatives for the creative industries 

  • Research – Liverpool Hope University and Liverpool John Moores University (2000-09)
    Research and Development of new music modules for under / postgraduate programs and assorted published articles on popular culture and music 

  •  Audio-Visual Consultancy in Africa (2002-09)
    Audio-visual consultants to Public Sector TV / Radio and an African Media Conglomerate with 5 radio stations and 2 TV stations in Nigeria. 

  •  International Music Conferencing and Global Business Support Project (2005-09)
    Small and Medium Music Enterprise bespoke training courses, seminars, workshops and advice sessions to improve export potential and international performance in the music industry 

  •  Vocational Arts Management Programmes (1998-00)
    NVQ Small Business Owner – Enterprise workshops and counselling sessions for creative businesses. Workshops are tailor made for businesses that are in the process of setting up and those that have only recently begun to trade
